Documents de travail

An exhibition by Thomas Bernardet

Thomas Bernardet is a French visual artist currently living and working in Brussels. He studied photography and video art at the Beaux-Arts in Toulouse and Marseille, and as an exchange student at the Kent Institute of Art and Design. Using notes, videos, photographies and sketches, Bernardet extracts details (such as a sentence, an object…) from everyday reality to turn them into “Working Documents”. His work addresses the conditions in which an image, whether still or moving, is captured and shown. For this exhibition he decided to work in regard to the exhibition that will be presented in the Chapel at the same time, “The Furkart Ephemeral”, which focuses on archives remaining from past art events. “Documents de Travail” will try to objectivate art before it exists as an art object.
