(NL) Kunstenaar Zoef Mashaldina is op zoek naar videowerken voor de expositie Pharmakon. De expositie is een onderdeel en afsluiting van haar residentie bij Greylight Projects. Deze zal plaatsvinden van 23 maart tot en met 21 april. Er zullen beeldende werken vertoond worden, alsook een programma plaatsvinden met verschillende activiteiten. De expositie opent op 23 maart met een kunstfestival.

De open call is gericht op video’s die gaan over rituelen. De thematiek van Pharmakon draait namelijk rondom spirituele praktijken. Er worden bijvoorbeeld werken van kunstenaars getoond die zich bezighouden met een zoektocht naar betekenis, verbondenheid, zingeving, of op een eigen manier realiteit bevragen of actief naar hun eigen hand draaien. Als aanvulling hierop wil Zoef graag het podium openen voor makers die een onderzoekende houding hebben richting rituelen.

Rituelen worden vaak verbonden aan spiritualiteit of religie, maar kunnen ook alledaags zijn, zoals het poetsen van je tanden. Wij zijn benieuwd naar jouw visie op rituelen, of welke betekenis ze hebben in jouw leven of omgeving.

Op vrijdag 29 maart om 19:00  zal er een publieksmoment zijn waarop de video’s vertoond worden. De videowerken krijgen daarna ook een plek in de expositie die wekelijks geopend is.

Aanvullend:
Bij Pharmakon is er een focus op de methode ‘samplen’, als manier om nieuwe betekenis toe te schrijven aan het leven of de wereld. Mashaldina is daarom nieuwsgierig naar video’s waarin sampling of andere knip- en montagetechnieken voorkomen. Dit is echter geen vereiste.

• Geef je video een titel zoals volgt: NAAM – TITEL VIDEO – JAAR.mp4
• Het bestand moet een mp4 video zijn (tip: je kunt bijvoorbeeld https://handbrake.fr/ gebruiken om je bestand naar mp4 met om te zetten, als ook de videogrootte en beeldverhouding in te stellen).

(EN) Artist Zoef Mashaldina is looking for video works for the exhibition Pharmakon. The exhibition is a part and conclusion of her residency at Greylight Projects. It will take place from 23 March to 21 April. Visual works will be shown, as well as a programme of various activities will take place. The exhibition will open on 23 March with an art festival.

The open call focuses on videos that deal with rituals. Indeed, the theme of Pharmakon revolves around spiritual practices. On display, for instance, are works by artists engaged in a search for meaning, connection, sense, or in their own way questioning reality or actively twisting it to their own ends. To complement this, Zoef would like to open the stage to makers who have an inquisitive attitude towards rituals.

Rituals are often linked to spirituality or religion, but can also be everyday, like brushing your teeth. We are curious about your views on rituals, or what meaning they have in your life or environment.

There will be a public moment on Friday 29 March at 19:00 when the videos will be shown. Afterwards, the video works will also have a place in the exhibition, which is open weekly.

Supplementary:
At Pharmakon, there is a focus on the method of ‘sampling’, as a way of attributing new meaning to life or the world. Mashaldina is therefore curious about videos that feature sampling or other cutting and editing techniques. However, this is not a requirement.
