Artist Talk with Arthur Cordier at IKOB Eupen

fig.1 - Artist Talk with Arthur Cordier at IKOB Eupen

On the occasion of his artist residency “Where are we now?” with Greylight Projects (Heerlen, NL) and IKOB – Museum of Contemporary Art as part of the Very Contemporary artist project 2021, a conversation with artist Arthur Cordier. The residency invites the artist to offer a new perspective on the particularities of the Euregio-Meuse-Rhine, responding to the distances, landscapes or borders between the two institutions.

⁣⁣Arthur’s practice tackles the aesthetics of bureaucracy, entrepreneurship, and efficiency through relational, situational and context-specific works. They often self-reflect upon artistic practice and the entangled economies of art in a production-driven society. ⁣⁣In addition to his practice he co-initiates the studio & project space The Balcony, The Hague (NL), and contributes as guest curator to Art au Centre Liège (BE).⁣⁣

Following an open call, the artist was chosen for this Very Contemporary project by a jury consisting of Maurice Funken (Neuer Aachener Kunstverein), Brenda Guesnet (IKOB), Wouter Huis (Greylight Projects) and Alicja Melzacka (CIAP Kunstverein).
