On Tuesday, 1 September, the new edition of Borderland Residencies (BR) kicks off at IKOB – Museum of Contemporary Art in Eupen.
Borderland Residencies is a cross-border residency network connecting artists and art organisations across the Euregio and beyond. Over a period of three months, more than 22 international artists from 16 residency organisations come together for field trips, studio visits, research and exchange. The border between Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany is not only a geographical boundary, but also a starting point for new encounters, perspectives and collaborations.
Greylight Projects is taking part in this year’s programme and will host three artists as part of the residency programme. During their residency, they will have the opportunity to explore the region, develop their practices and connect with artists, organisations and communities across the border.
The kick-off at IKOB marks the beginning of three months of encounters, research and exchange across the border region.

Op dinsdag 1 september start de nieuwe editie van Borderland Residencies (BR) bij IKOB – Museum of Contemporary Art in Eupen.
Borderland Residencies is een grensoverschrijdend residentienetwerk dat kunstenaars en kunstorganisaties uit de Euregio en daarbuiten met elkaar verbindt. Gedurende drie maanden komen meer dan 22 internationale kunstenaars, verbonden aan 16 residentieplekken, samen voor studio visits, field trips, onderzoek en uitwisseling. De grens tussen België, Nederland en Duitsland is daarbij niet alleen een geografische grens, maar ook een vertrekpunt voor nieuwe ontmoetingen, perspectieven en samenwerkingen.
Ook Greylight Projects neemt deel aan het programma. Vanuit Heerlen begeleiden we dit jaar drie kunstenaars in hun residentieperiode. Zij krijgen de ruimte om de regio te onderzoeken, nieuwe verbindingen te leggen en hun praktijk te ontwikkelen vanuit de specifieke context van het grensgebied.
De kick-off bij IKOB vormt het startpunt van een periode van drie maanden vol ontmoetingen, onderzoek en uitwisseling.
We kijken ernaar uit om onze drie kunstenaars én de vele andere deelnemers uit het Borderland-netwerk te verwelkomen.
