Walter van Broekhuizen uses different materials to make his installations and these materials traverse multiple disciplines: sculpture, performance, photography, drawing. How different there is a common focus within his work; the research that focuses on the perception of space, the mental and physical experience of space. This can also be considered as an abstract concept. The notion that larger systems, mathematical, physical, metaphysical, spiritual or political, make our world understandable. The physical space in which the body moves, the image it occupies as well as the new reality that it creates.
