Felipe Mujica nodigt je uit voor een workshop in textiel!
Doe mee! Felipe Mujica organiseert op 26+27 november en op 2, 3 en 4 december een textielworkshop rondom zijn collectieve werk Mijn Klok Staat Stil. Samen met participanten werkt hij bij Greylight Projects aan zijn Curtain-serie, een groeiende collectie gordijnen die gemaakt zijn in groepsverband, rondom gezamenlijke gesprekken en lokale kennis. Op 26 november geeft hij een artist talk over zijn werk. Ben erbij om meer te horen over Felipe’s artistieke praktijk en de ervaringen rondom de workshops. Soep bij inbegrepen!
Felipe Mujica: “Samen geconcentreerd werken, van elkaar leren, elkaar leren kennen, steek voor steek borduren, en gerecyclede stoffen samenbrengen die uit verschillende huizen komen en uiteenlopende herkomsten hebben. We brengen samen tijd door en leren elkaar kennen, in mijn ervaring leidt dat tot een hernieuwd gemeenschapsgevoel.”

Het is leuk als je meerdere dagen kunt komen, maar een enkele dag kan ook. Je mag ook een uurtje komen, of juist langer.

Over Felipe Mujica:
Felipe Mujica studeerde kunst aan de Universidad Católica de Chile. Na zijn kunstopleiding was hij medeoprichter van de door kunstenaars gerunde ruimte Galería Chilena, die van 1997 tot 2005 actief was, eerst als een nomadische en commerciële kunstgalerie en later als een collaboratief kunstproject, een curatorieel ‘experiment’. Hij maakt werken bestaande uit installaties, tekeningen, opvouwbare sculpturen en prenten, beïnvloed door het modernisme en de internationale artistieke, sociale en politieke bewegingen van eind jaren zestig en zeventig. In 2006 creëerde hij zijn eerste Curtain, een textielproject dat tot op de dag van vandaag blijft groeien, in samenwerking met verschillende gemeenschappen in verschillende regio’s en contexten. Naast zijn werk heeft Mujica talrijke samenwerkingsprojecten georganiseerd en geproduceerd, waaronder tentoonstellingen, boekontwerpen en publicaties.

Felipe Mujica invites you to join a textiles workshop!
Join! Felipe Mujica is organizing a textile workshop on 27 November and on 2–4 December around his community project Mijn Klok Staat Stil. Together with participants, he will work at Greylight Projects on his Curtain series: a growing collection of curtains made collectively, through shared conversations and local knowledge. On November 26, Felipe is presenting his artistic practice during an artist talk. Feel free to join and get a sense of the project. Soup included!
Felipe Mujica: “Working together in a focused way, learning from one another, getting to know each other, embroidering stitch by stitch, and bringing together recycled fabrics that come from different homes and have diverse origins. We spend time together and get to know each other; in my experience, that leads to a renewed sense of community.”

We’d love it if you participate multiple days, but you are also very welcome to join on a single day. Feel free to also join for just an hour, or longer.
* On November 27 and December 4, there will also be a crochet workshop in the evening after soup, starting at 18.00. Feel free to participate in both! Please mention this when you register.

About Felipe Mujica:
Felipe Mujica studied art at the Universidad Católica de Chile. After art school, he co-founded the artist-run space Galería Chilena, which operated from 1997 to 2005, first as a nomadic and commercial art gallery and later as a collaborative art project, a curatorial “experiment.” He creates works comprising installations, drawings, collapsible sculptures, and printmaking, influenced by modernism and the international artistic, social, and political movements of the late 1960s and 1970s. In 2006, he created his first Curtain, a textile project that continues to grow to this day, in collaboration with various communities in different regions and contexts. Parallel to his work, Mujica has organized and produced numerous collaborative projects, including exhibitions, book designs, and publications.
