Op zaterdag 21 juni nodigen we je van harte uit voor een middag in het teken van de afsluiting van de residencies van de kunstenaars Marcus Kaiser en Kaya Erdinç in het LuFo-park, als onderdeel van het programma Reading the Region. Er is een performance van een compositie van Marcus Kaiser, die hij uitvoert samen met Germaine Sijstermans. Met Kaya Erdinç zullen we samen zijn tekst A Silent Sjtil lezen.

Beide kunstenaars zijn sinds maart dit jaar werkzaam bij Greylight Projects in het kader van hun residentieperiode, die tot stand kwam in samenwerking met het Ludwig Forum in Aken. Tijdens hun drie maanden durende residentie verkennen beide kunstenaars de regio en verbinden zij hun onderzoek met de lokale context. Marcus Kaiser werkt samen met het GTB Lab in Heerlen, waar hij experimenteert met ruimtelijke en ecologische processen. Kaya Erdinç onderzoekt hoe poëzie kan dienen als een kompas in onze steeds veranderende ervaring van privacy. Zijn praktijk ontvouwt zich in een dialoog tussen taal, beeld en geluid, met aandacht voor wederkeer en terugkeer binnen culturele en sociale structuren.

Reading the Region is een programma van Very Contemporary dat onderzoekresidencies ondersteunt in de Euregio Maas-Rijn. Het stimuleert een diepgaande betrokkenheid bij het culturele, sociale en ecologische landschap van de regio en bevordert grensoverschrijdende dialoog en samenwerking.

[EN] On Saturday, June 21, we warmly invite you to an afternoon marking the conclusion of the residencies of artists Marcus Kaiser and Kaya Erdinç in the LuFo Park, as part of the Reading the Region program. There will be a performance of a composition by Marcus Kaiser, performed together with Germaine Sijstermans. With Kaya Erdinç, we will read his text A Silent Shtil together.

Both artists have been working at Greylight Projects since March this year as part of their residency, made possible in collaboration with the Ludwig Forum in Aachen. During their three-month stay, the artists explored the region and connected their research to the local context. Marcus Kaiser collaborates with the GTB Lab in Heerlen, where he experiments with spatial and ecological processes. Kaya Erdinç investigates how poetry can serve as a compass in our ever-changing experience of privacy. His practice unfolds in a dialogue between language, image, and sound, with a focus on recurrence and return within cultural and social structures.

Reading the Region is a program by Very Contemporary that supports research residencies across the Meuse-Rhine Euregion. It encourages deep engagement with the region’s cultural, social, and ecological landscape and fosters cross-border dialogue and collaboration.
