Xavier Duffaut (1996) is a visual artist interested in the cultural representation and identification of the self. Often playing with the codes of contemporary art (e.g., appropriation and the use of irony), his interdisciplinary practice is characterized by minimal and subtle interventions on his environment. Duffaut features and/or showcases himself in ‘auto-fictious’ projects that quite always refer to the Other, highlighting therefore evident socio-economic parameters.

For the Display, we show the work ‘Sublime packaging’ which was presented before at KANAL Centre Pompidou, Brussels.

Xavier Duffaut (1996) is een beeldend kunstenaar die geïnteresseerd is in de culturele representatie en identificatie van het zelf. Vaak spelend met de codes van de hedendaagse kunst (bv. toe-eigening en het gebruik van ironie), wordt zijn interdisciplinaire praktijk gekenmerkt door minimale en subtiele ingrepen in zijn omgeving. Duffaut kenmerkt en/of toont zichzelf in ‘auto-fictieve’ projecten die altijd verwijzen naar de Ander, waarbij hij de nadruk legt op evidente sociaal-economische parameters.

Voor de presentatie in de Display tonen we het werk Sublime Packaging dat eerder in het museum KANAL Centre Pompidou, Brussel is getoond.
