class relations. Teachers, learners, artists

Opening Saturday 10.05.25, 15h at Kunsthaus NRW Kornelimünster (NL)

How do you become an artist? Do talent, role models, guidance, practice, attending a hip art academy count? What has changed since Professor Beuys stirred up the Düsseldorf Art Academy in the 1960s and was dismissed in 1972 amid protests from his students?

Jester Days

Open Studios Saturday 17.05, at Jester Genk (DE)

Jester presents Jester Days, a week-long celebration of the many voices that have shaped our spaces over the past residency cycle. This annual showcase brings together the artists who participated in Jester’s residency programme, offering insight into their trajectories, the experiments they pursued, and the work that took form along the way. In our Kunsthal, works developed or produced during the artists’ time at Jester are on view, accompanied by a public programme and open studios with attendance of the current residents, as part of Atelier in Beeld. During these seven days, Jester offers an opportunity to encounter the richness of diverse practices, to peek behind the scenes, and to connect with the artists who temporarily call Jester their home.

Reading the Region -> What the Flag ?! 2025

Saturday 18.05.25, 12h15 at Kunsthaus NRW Kornelimünster (DE)

Following the previous editions of What the Flag?! Euregio, the project continues in 2025 with a renewed focus: "How can we connect?". In a time where borders—both physical and mental—are increasingly questioned, this edition delves into the role of art in fostering connections between people, institutions, and regions. The flag remains central as a symbol of community, communication, and change.
